What is threadvine for?
Threadvine is designed for brand managers, reps, designers and customer service to quickly send suggested assortments to their buyers and receive back confirmed orders.
Why is threadvine for apparel & footwear?
Threadvine is designed for seasonal multi-dimensional merchandise. Most online systems are designed for 'discrete' inventory, meaning each product is a unique item. Apparel and footwear are sold by season, style and color with size matrices, packs, multiple ship windows and cancel dates. Threadvine excels at this. Most discrete systems either can't handle it or need complicated customization.
How will threadvine help me close more business?
Threadvine puts your product images instantly in front of a buyer with pricing, availability and even suggested order quantities. All your buyer does to approve an order is a mouse click. When you're in the right place at the right time you close more business.
Is threadvine like an online trade show?
No, this is not a 'virtual trade show'. Your site is private and only buyers you specifically invite and grant access to can see your line, and only the styles you publish for them. You will never be 'shopped' on price or compared side by side with competing products on threadvine. Your buyers will only see your brand - that's it.
Is threadvine a B2B system?
Threadvine is a B2B system but also much more. B2B on its own is just too passive to gain much adoption. Buyers don't automatically go to a B2B site and place an order. Buyers are looking for assistance on what to order. They work with sales reps to create merchandise plans and assortments that meet their market niche and open to buy. Threadvine fully supports this by enabling you to use regular email to send your buyers suggested orders, hot styles, assortment plans, close-outs and more they can review online and click to order.
Are my images, pricing and other information secure on threadvine?
Yes, only buyers you invite and specifically provide with access are allowed into your site.
What happens to threadvine if the power goes out?
Threadvine servers are located in mirrored hosting facilities in Newark, NJ and Fremont, CA. Our servers run Intel Xeon processors, have battery-backup, redundant power supplies, RAID array drives and connect to the internet via multiple gigabit networks. Threadvine is fast, secure and won't go down in a power outage.
What's the pricing for threadvine?
Exact pricing is not yet determined but we are planning on a price range of $50/mo to $250/mo depending on features, users and number of styles & seasons. There will be no fees based on transactions or buyers. Our goal is to make threadvine very compelling to use and affordable for everyone.
How can you offer threadvine at such a low price?
Creating web applications today is a lot less expensive than it was a few years ago. Until recently most systems had to be built from scratch. By using cloud computing, tools like jQuery & Rails, extensive Open Systems resources and AWS S3 image hosting we're able to build a powerful and secure product for far less than you might think. Plus, we're scrappy - we've built a few of these systems before so know how to keep costs to a bare minimum.
How many buyers do you have in your system vs. sellers?
On all sites combined we have over 6,000 Buyers and almost 200 Sellers.
Can I log in to Threadvine if travelling away from the office?
Yes, Threadvine is totally web based so you can log on anywhere you have access to the internet.
I am also looking for inventory control, purchase orders and invoicing in one system? Does Threadvine do this?
No, our focus is entirely on the the sales process. We do have interfaces with a number of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions. Suggest you take a look at Blue Cherry, A2000, Full Circle & Simparel.
Hello, a vendor of ours, Amsale, sent us an email that linked to detail product pages which displayed the wholesale cost. Shouldn't an account log in be enforced for access to detail pages?
Don't worry, threadvine is secure. You received a catalog by email with a link to view larger images of styles with pricing online. Examine that link and you will note it has a very long unique and randomly generated key, something like "/s/catalog/view/7a0620f874ex4eb6aab55fe36925f348". Unique and random keys are created for every individual email sent from threadvine and nearly impossible to guess. The images and pricing are not viewable without that unique key in the web address.
