Follow up at (and After) the Show
Posted on 17. Feb, 2010 by Ross West in Blog
WSA is over but Magic is on and so is Fashion Week. Here are some helpful reminders to do what we all know already.
- Instantly Follow Up! – Right after your buyer leaves the booth send an email thanking them for their time and order (if they placed an order). If they didn’t commit include highlighted styles from your line sheet (like this). They are still at the show and you want to keep top of mind.
- After the Show – Follow Up! – For every buyer follow up with a handwritten thank you note and an email of your Line Sheet. If the buyer didn’t write send an email with highlighted styles your buyer showed interest in with a suggested order.
- Follow Up Again! – Give a call and another email again with suggested styles and highlighting your best sellers or styles that match their market. Make it easy for your buyer to respond and commit, ideally with a link to place an order online.
- Follow Up Again! – Recurring theme. Don’t be obnoxious, but do be ready to respond.
Best shows to you all!

Hi,
I am a small business owner and I am excited to hear about your Threadvine project.
I am looking for a way to offer an online catologue (that I can create myself) specific for wholesale buyers that is password protected. It is important for them be able to use an online order form that includes an apparel matrix for infant sizes of NB, 3,6,9,12,18 and 24 months. Is this what you are working on? When will it be available?
Thank you,
Linda
Hi Linda,
What you describe needing is very much in line with what we are building. Thanks for writing to us!
Currently we’re coding the product and relatively well along. Our first (beta) release is anticipated at the end of this month, it will include the capability to set up a secure site with custom merchandise hierarchy, setup styles with sizes, colors and multiple images, control buyer access and allow you to design custom assortments you can recommend to buyers and send a custom line sheet by email.
What our first release will not include is order entry, however we already have the specifications for this and will be working on order entry over the summer with plans to release that capability in September along with updates and improvements to the first version.
I would enjoy speaking with you because from what you describe I can tell your business would be a good fit. We’re looking for companies to help us improve the product, so let’s talk.
My number is 206 842 4155 please feel welcome to call me.
